Fanded was created to be a place for creators, artists, or athletes like yourself, to get the financial support that they need to continue doing what they do best. This may include touring, producing your next album, filming your next short film, or getting to your next national competition.

There’s two components to Fanded: Updates and Subscriptions

Updates:We offer a place where you give project and progress updates for your fans. This allows them to see what they are directly supporting. Subscriptions:We offer a subscription payment platform that allows your top supporters to contribute to your goals on a monthly basis. Fanded is here to bring sustainable, long term support. We want to help facilitate regular, monthly contributions vs big one-time tips. We want to help you keep your fans involved in your journey. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

Great question, we get asked this a lot! The simple is principle.Patreon is essentially a marketplace if you think about. A fan commits to X amount of financial contribution per month and in return, gets a pre-specified set of perks and/or benefits. It’s a 1:1 exchange. Fanded is built on the idea that everyone has a fan base that just wants to see their favorite artist or athlete succeed. That is the only “reward” that they want. Fanded’s CEO and Co-Founder, Travis Atreo, spent many years trying to make Patreon work for him. Through this experience he learned two things:

1. Some subscribers would subscribe for a month, get the sheet music (one of the listed perks) that they wanted, and then leave. High turnover is not helpful for a creator’s long term success.

2. Fulfilling these perks took valuable time away from what he wanted to do in the first place, making music. If fulfilling subscriber perks includes writing a custom song for a fan every single month, and that takes time away from the artist writing the songs they want to make, what is the point?

We’ve found that creators have had the most success with treating posts like updates. Think of it as an old school Tumblr blog post or diary entry. Something for YOU to look back on and see how far you’ve come, not something you post to hit certain engagement numbers. At Fanded, you don’t have to think about your “likes” or “views”. None of those metrics are shown. This is not social media. you’re just here to be yourself and be surrounded by people that want to see you win. That’s it.

Creator’s keep 90% of gross revenue after transaction costs have been subtracted. We are constantly working to lower that transaction cost to put more money back in your wallet.

That means that Fanded’s fee is just 10% after transaction costs, which is an industry low.

Payouts for creators are usually the first Friday of each month. There is no monthly usage fee for creators. We do not make money until you start making money.

Notifications are delivered with our intuitive web app. It’s essentially a web page on your mobile browser but it has been designed to be added to your home screen on your smartphone as a bookmark. Once added to your home screen, it behaves much like any other app which includes push notifications.

There is an option for email although there may be a delay when sending. There is no SMS text messaging at this time, this may come as a feature in future iterations. Currently, the quickest way to send notifications is by posting updates on your account and letting people get notified via the web app. Thank for testing Fanded Beta with us.
